Implants

Implants have completely changed the way dentistry is performed today. Unlike bridges, they allow you to replace missing teeth without reducing adjacent natural teeth and are the next best thing to your natural teeth. We use the latest technology including CT scans and sophisticated software programs to customize a treatment plan that will address your specific needs and desires.

Q: What are implants?

Implants are titanium replacements of roots of teeth that are designed to look, feel, and function like natural teeth. They can be used to attach single crowns, bridges, or even dentures.

Q: Do implants hurt?

The procedure is done under local anesthetic and one day of recovery is usually recommended. Once healing has taken place, you are not even aware of their presence in your mouth.

Q: Can I get a result immediately?

Depending on your specific case you may be able to get your missing teeth in one visit. I use Nobelguide’s “teeth in an hour technology to allow you to get this immediate result. However, typically an implant remains buried in the bone for about 4-6 months before a crown can be placed on top of it. During this healing phase you have a temporary tooth.

Q: I have been wearing dentures for a long time and hate them. Can dental implants help my case?

Definitely! Implants can be used to replace dentures completely with a fixed prosthesis which never needs to be removed or to help secure a loose denture. If you miss biting into an apple or corn cob, implants can give you back this ability.

Q: How do I know if I am an implant candidate?

If you are missing a tooth other than a wisdom tooth then you probably are in need of an implant. If you are missing many teeth than implants will change your life completely and give you back your smile and comfort.

Q: I am very excited about dental implants but how do I start?
